The stories of our land 🇿🇦 (from the historic streets of Cape Town to the wild cliffs of the Overberg and the ancient forests of the Garden Route) are meant to be shared, not depleted. To protect these landscapes, our mission is built entirely on practicing genuine eco tourism in the Western Cape.

The “Leave No Trace” Philosophy

The Southern Cape is home to the Cape Floral Kingdom, a global biodiversity hotspot. Our motto is a bit cliché but important regardless: Take only memories, leave only footsteps 👣. As tourism continues to grow worldwide, it’s important that we protect the delicate Cape fynbos that defines this landscape.

  • Waste Management: We operate a Pack it in, Pack it out policy. Nothing is left behind, and where possible, we remove litter left by others.
  • Wildlife Respect: We observe the Southern Cape’s unique fauna, from the whales of Plettenberg Bay to the birdlife of Knysna, from a respectful distance, making sure not to interfere with their daily lives.

Cultural & Historical Stewardship

Sustainability isn’t just about the environment, it’s about honouring the human story of the region.

  • Maritime Heritage: We highlight the history of our shipwrecks âš“, the lighthouses of the Cape, and the people that brought them to life. Some of these coastal monuments are currently under threat due to mismanagement.
  • Authentic Narrative: We strive to tell the diverse story of the Western Cape, respecting the heritage of the indigenous communities and the settlers who shaped this coastline.

Sustainable Tourism & Community-First Growth

We are a small business with big dreams for the Southern Cape. Right now, our focus is on building a solid foundation, but we’re also hoping to give back to local communities and landscapes that make our tours possible.

  • Keeping it Local: We prioritise small, family-run stays and local legends for our activities. Your spend should stay in the pockets of the people living along the Southern Coast.
  • Real Stories: We don’t do cookie-cutter history. We want to share the honest, diverse stories of this coastline, respecting both indigenous heritage and the modern communities we visit.
  • Paying it Forward: As we grow, we aim to mentor new local guides, sharing our passion for the Western Cape and keeping the spirit of authentic guiding alive.
