How We Handle Your Adventure Data

We aim to protect your privacy in accordance with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and other international data protection laws. When sending personal information to us you consent to all points in the privacy policy as set out below.

Personal Information

We collect only what is necessary to plan your journey.

  • Bookings: When you fill out our enquiry form, we collect your name, email, country, and tour preferences (including dates and passenger numbers).
  • Purpose: We use this information solely to provide accurate quotes and ensure your safety during our tours (especially for hiking and maritime activities).
  • Data Providers: Your enquiry details are initially captured and stored securely on our website’s database. This data is kept as a backup of your request and to ensure we can provide the services you’ve asked for. We use HubSpot as our secure Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to manage your booking. By submitting our form, you acknowledge that your data may be stored and processed on HubSpot’s secure servers outside of South Africa.
  • Service Providers: We share details with accommodation and activity partners when required. These partners are also required by law to secure your data.
  • Legal Requirements: We may share personal information with authorities if required by law.

Payment Information

We do not collect or store credit card details on our website. All payments are processed via secure Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or reputable third-party payment providers. We will never ask for your full card details via email or WhatsApp.

Data Retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary to fulfill your booking or to comply with South African tax and tourism record-keeping requirements (typically 5–7 years for financial records).

Your Rights

In the unlikely event that your personal information is compromised, we will notify you as soon as possible and put in place adequate measures to contain the breach as required by POPIA. Under POPIA, you have the right to access, amend, or delete your personal information at any time. Please contact the information officer, Ryan Smith, via email or whatsapp to confirm your request.
